Back To The Track - The Robots

The year 2012 was a turning point in my life. I renewed my desire to photograph. Three milestones that year were: Paul Henry's Art Gallery, Towle Theater, The Steepwater Band, and The Robots who introduced me to The Steepwater Band. Great photo opportunities, great people, great places.

I first (and many other times) saw The Robots at The Track Lounge in Crown Point, thanks to my friend Renee who I call "Sis", and who is now (not then) with Pete Calacci of The Robots. Renee is a great photographer as well, which is why she hooked me up to photograph The Robots.

Here are some "so so" photographs from my visit to The Track to see The Robots this night. Enjoy!

Back At The Track with The Robots

As Dave Dodge put it, going "back to The Track" is like going back to church to renew yourself among friends. This night was one of those nights for me.

For me it was also to go see what started my photography of bands, with The Robots. The memories here photographing this band will never stop, nor the memories with the friends I have met here over the years.

Thanks again to Richard and Caroline. Your joy for this place shows by the spirits of the people who come to sit at the bar to enjoy.

Flashpoint

After an earlier photoshoot of another band, I chose to stop by The Track Lounge to take a couple photographs of Flashpoint. I am glad I did.

Once you have been away from The Track, coming back gives you that comfortable home feeling. There is no hesitation walking in the door. The people are great. The staff is super great. They support local music.

This was also seeing friends that you have not seen for a while. Yes, you can do that by going out anywhere. However there is still something special when you go to The Track. You are there with friends, picking up where you left off. I sat and chatted with Art Miller. When the band went on break I chatted with Dave Dodge and Eddie Fell.

That is probably the sad thing in the world. People stuck on their computers and phones. That is the wrong social makeup. We need to get out and press flesh, see eye-to-eye, all in the comfort of a social setting that everyone agrees upon. That is The Track Lounge.

Here are a couple photographs of Flashpoint for you to enjoy!
