Funky Mojodaddy 3/16/19

They play, because they can play. They play the blues, because they are musicians. They play at Buddy Guy's Legends, they play at Chicago House of Blues. They play for you and me, and most of all they play for themselves, for the musical high, for being friends, for it is in their blood.

This night Kenny Kinsey, the curator of Funky MojoDaddy, brought his clan of bluesmen to Wildrose Brewing Company located in Griffith, Indiana. Accompanying him this night were Jerry Porter on drums who plays with Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, TJ Jenkins on keyboard, and Ryan Frahm on guitar/vocals who plays with the Green Room Rockers. Kenny himself hales from his family, Big Daddy Kinsey and the Kinsey Report. Not here this night, Jeff Massey from the Steepwater Band who plays guitar/vocals. Ryan and Jeff Massey will play together or switch out depending on availability. This is what makes this band so special in vibe.

When Funky MojoDaddy get together you can catch them at our other local scenes; Grape and Grain Co. in Homewood, Duffy's Place in Valparaiso, Griffith Central Market, Broad St. Blues in Griffith, Hessville Street Fest, Hawthorn Park in Porter, Acorn Theater over in Three Oaks MI, Zao Island in Valparaiso, SoulShine Music Festival in Monterey IN, over to Johnny's Blitz in Westmont IL, Blues & Brews On 66 in Joliet IL, Club Tavern up in Middleton WI, down to Pops Place down in Decatur IL, and of course Leroys in Porter IN. Whenever they get together and wherever they play, you need to go see them. You will find their schedule on RiverbNation.

Here are some photographs from the evening at Wildrose Brewing Company in Griffith. Enjoy!

Funky Mojo Daddy LIVE 1/4/14

Happy Birthday Christi Lee!!!!

Had to add this second one . . . thanks Tod . . .

The annual birthday party for Christi Lee was celebrated once again by The Steepwater Band, and Mojo Daddy. This event was way cool, as you will see by all the photos. Everyone was having a good time. Note, the weather was lousy, but that did not stop any of us from coming out!

You cannot help but enjoy a great JAM. When these guys from the bands get together, they are pumped up, rock'n it, blues'n it, the best way anyone can. I took so many photos this evening, and I still had a lot of time to sit, listen, and dance.

Here are some photos and vids of the evening. I do warn you, there area a LOT of photos, and you are viewing them "as shot" without edit . . .
