MegaBeatles support of NWI Food Bank

The Beatles left a huge legacy with all of us. The common theme coming out of all this is Love. All you need is love because love is all you need. The MegaBeatles, made of our two NWI bands "Chris and Lou" and "The Crawpuppies", showed us their love of The Beatles and of the people in NWI who need assistance. They gave us a show to benefit the NWI Food Bank (read more at the end of this blog post), in this perfect venue graciously hosted by "County Line Orchard" for annual "Beatles In The Barn" benefit.

This blog is not just to showcase NW Indiana and the purpose of this event. I want to also pay tribute to Mike Curtis. He is a good friend of my bride Christi and an excellent lead guitarist. You will see a lot of photographs in this blog of him while in his groove. An artist for sure, critical of his own work, and the audience loves him more than I think he knows.

Though I must say, after this night I like the color green. The Apple studio connection and Mike wailing on his green guitar went together this evening. Everybody's jaw dropped during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and they could not clap hard enough after. Such a talented guitarist.

I am not forgetting about the other members of MegaBeatles. Their desire to entertain is true. Their play of music by The Beatles is true. All 52 songs they played were of the right selection and arrangement that made this evening more special. It rekindled our spirits for Beatles music, and of our great NWI band The MegaBeatles.

Here are a bunch of photographs for you to enjoy. I have not posted so many in one blog in a long time. This show had so many special "Beatles moments" that it needs to be remembered.

The annual guitar raffle. Five chances to win a guitar!!!

I also have to give a plug to this great gentlemen shown above, at Authentic Irish Tours out of Valparaiso. They have a tour "London-Liverpool All Beatles Tour" that anyone would enjoy. For this tour, Chad Clifford will be "Rocking The UK", as he stops to play at "The Cavern Club" . . . now how cool is that?! Other tours are also available. Check out their website by clicking "here". At the time of this blog only 2 spots are left.

MegaBeatles!

This young man on the drums helped out with the raffle. Such a wonderful personality at his age, and what an opportunity to play in a live show for a song.

Chad practicing his Joker smile I think. A bit sinister, a bit musical, a whole lot of Beatlish . . .

And so it starts, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", so beautifully performed by The Megabeatles and lead guitarist Mike Curtis.

This is where Mike wailed on his guitar to "My Guitar Gently Weeps". He is such the musician and the artist, that you want him to play forever, never ending, because he has it in him. He has the internal voice of play that he so eloquently expresses through those six strings from the tensioning of his muscles throughout his body. Yes, I do think very highly of him. This is when the audience's jaw dropped and he wailed and wept, to the point at at the end, the audience would not stop applauding, causing Mike to come to the mic a couple of times to say "thank you" in the most humbling way. So, the photographs here may seem repetitive to you, however, if you were not there or not paying attention, you most likely won't get it without a musical soul.

Back to our normal programming . . . if this were truly an emergency, Mike would have played through it . . . 😀

Get ready for the pyrotechnics in all ways imaginable . . .

A big thanks to County Line Orchard for hosting this benefit and music. The facilities were immaculate, staff super courteous, plenty of vending around for drinks and food.

Let us not forget why we are all here. This concert and the venue it played in were all for the Food Bank of NWI, "Fighting Hunger, Building Hope". We can do this as a society, helping others, and in this case helping others (Food Bank of NWI) to help others. Donations are always needed. Peoples struggle to maintain a minimum standard is real. Food is never ending expensive, and the right nutritional balance of food is mostly forgotten. Through organizations as the Food Bank of NWI, people can survive and have hope. Please donate. You can read more on their website on how they help out community, and how you can help them.
