Beatles Fest 2013 was packed with entertainment.  The linup . . .

Nomad Planets

Josh McCormack

Paul Henry's Art Gallery Jam Band

Beatles Blue Grass

Rising Dawn

Beatolution

The photos speak for themselves, though I will guide you through some of them.  First, some photographer's choice photos . . .

Here are a few photos before the music started.

With the line starting to form outside the gate around 3:15.

Paul Henry's Art Gallery was present with artists and musicians, all whom I enjoy both for talent and as close friends.

And to open the Beatles Fest music . . . Nomad Planets . . .

Angela (above) and I volunteered as the photographers for this great celebration of music The Beatles have brought to us. Angela, not old enough to have seen the craze, and me, to old to remember the craze . . . lol. You will see I photographed Angela a few times during the day. Why? Because I can. :)

There were a lot of people to be served.  A great thanks to everyone who took care of us!!!

It is always a joy to play with Sophia, or in this case, Sophia playing with us with face paint. I missed my turn being the canvas, failing to get my face painted this year . . .

I blew out the exposure on this next one, by accident, however I still wanted to play with it. So here you go . . .

Next up, Joshua McCormack. I met Joshua and his wife Lauren for the first time last year, at this event. I have been following Joshua and enjoying his talent ever since.

My dear friends Renee and Pete . . .

Paul Henry's Art Gallery JAM Band . . .

Another fellow photographer friend, Carol . . .

I introduced my friends Mark and Sandra so I could take a photograph. Remember, the first 2 minutes forms an everlasting first impression!!!! lol . . . good job Mark!!!

New friend Joe . . .

Friends Paul and Sue . . .

Beatles Blue Grass was up next. These guys really laid down some interesting Beatles music . . .

Now the quarterback lineup. Between bands, the kids who went to the magic show came up front to help throw T-shirts. This was a blast, watching the smiles on their faces as they launched the T-shirts into the crowd.  One black and one beige incoming . . . all Yellow Submarines dive, dive, dive . . .

Now, Rising Dawn took the stage, at sunset . . . and it was good . . .

Beatolution

Friends Jen and Sandra popping their head out for the camera . . .

I want to end with this photo again. The one I had at the top of this blog post. Here is a view of downtown Hammond, IN during this years Beatles Fest. You would think you were in a magical city, like a magical mystery tour of dreams this evening. This is the quality of life that Hammond can provide to NW Indiana. This is the quality of life we need to keep building for ourselves.

I think it would be nice if we could do something like this, on a smaller scale, once a month or more on a Saturday night (like from 7:00 to 9:00 PM).  No alcohol, and invite the local shops, art, and entertainment to participate.

Pete & Kelly LIVE 8/3/13

Pete and Kelly performed at Casey's Lanes in LaPorte Saturday night. It was nice to see them at another venue, and strong as ever. Kelly has a voice with range. Pete has vast talent in his guitar play. The two together, being long time friends, make a team that is in sync with what the other is doing, making it look seamless.

Here are some photos of the evening.

Had to really laugh at this. Someone said, "Hey look, Kelly is $10.00 and Pete is only $6.50 . . . I'm buying Pete!!!" . . . lol

Check them out on their Facebook page, Pete and Kelly . . .
