As I have stated for the last 10 years, NW Indiana is dripping with talent. Art, music, theater, even roller derby. We have it all and in abundance.
On the music side one band makes the cut above all others, and that is The Steepwater Band. Everyone in the region looks up to them in awe. The band began around 1998, moving toward original music of Steepwater style rock and blues, played in perfect sync and emotion.
These guys know how to jam, whether it be a small crowd at a bar or a large crowd at a festival. They bring it every time I see them. Feeding me with vibe.
Tonight they played in "A Night At The Crossroads 2", held at the Avenue 912 venue in Griffith. Such a wonderful venue. Sound and lighting provided by Sounds Cool Audio LLC, who have done a superb job at every concert I attended where they provided their expertise.
If you have not heard or seen The Steepwater Band, let me introduce them to you now:
Jeff Massey ⁓ Lead Vocals / Guitars
Joe Winters ⁓ Drums / Percussion
Eric Saylors ⁓ Guitars / Lap Steel / Backing Vocals
Joe Bishop ⁓ Bass / Backing Vocals
Accompanying Tonight ⁓ Chris Grove ⁓ Keyboards
A big shout out to X-Rock 103.9 FM for supporting rock, and to Scott Rosenberg of X-Rock 103.9 for his support of local music.
Now, about Steepwater. These are the best bunch of guys that I have had the pleasure to know. They are humbled by our recognition of them as a top notch band. They will do what they can to help others. They are resilient. They are proud. Most of all I call them my friends.
Here are some photographs of the evening for you to enjoy.
My bride jam'n to some Steewater . . .
I will never be able to say enough about these friends. They send the vibe to me of what is real in life. What is important to my life. One being my bride Christi who I met because of The Steepwater Band. Another being music. Thank you.
